Hey, I’m Robert.
I was born and raised in sunny Panama City Beach, so trips and picturesque places were part of the background from the start. These days I split my time between PCB and Guntersville, Alabama. Beach on one end, lake country on the other. When I’m not in one of those, you can usually find me at Disney or a comic convention.
On my socials I go by WriteTravelGeek. I like trips with a story behind them, especially the places a film or a book made you want to see in person. Europe is especially good for that: a street from a movie, a square from a novel, then dinner somewhere the guidebook missed.
Italy is a top destination for me. Florence edges it out, but Viareggio is a very close second. Mediterranean cruises and Eastern Europe round out the list. My wife’s family is in western Ukraine, and time there with them is a good reminder that trains, timing, and a backup plan matter once you leave the easy routes. I’m also a lifelong Disney passholder, and EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival is my favorite.
I joined You Can Fly Travels to do for clients what I already do for myself: clear plans, realistic budgets, and trips that feel personal instead of packaged. I’m also writing a YA book, and this site is where that story and the trips share a page.
